New Delhi, Nov. 14 (Delhi Crown): In a major success, the Dwarka Police claimed to have nabbed an auto-lifter from near Poswal Chowk, confirmed DCP South-West Shankar Choudhary on Sunday (Nov. 14).

According to DCP Choudhary, the auto-lifter has been identified as Vinod Sahu (23), a resident of J.J. Colony, Sec-3, Dwarka in South-West Delhi.

“On the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday, while patrolling in the area, Sub-Inspector Manish, Assistant Sub-Inspector Manoj, Constable Ashwani, Constable Sandeep and Constable Sandeep Kumar stopped a two-wheeler for regular checking near Poswal Chowk,” said DCP Choudhary.

The two-wheeler didn’t have its rear number plate. On being questioned rider Vinod Sahu tried to flee but was overpowered by the cops after a brief chase.

He was detained for further questioning. Initially he tried to dodge the police but finally confessed that he stole the said two-wheeler bearing the Registration No. DL-9SBL0992 from Mohan Garden area on Nov. 7.

On further interrogation three more bikes were recovered at his instance, said DCP Choudhary.

Sahu is said to be a drug addict and unemployed at present. He is a Matriculate and has two brothers. His father works as waiter at Aggarwal Restaurant in Nawada, while mother works as a maid.
