Delhites get huge respite on Diwali
New Delhi: After the reduction in fuel prices last night, petrol is now costing nearly Rs 104 a litre and diesel Rs 86.70 a litre in Delhi.
After the union government last night announced to cut excise duty on fuels (petrol and diesel), prices were reduced by over Rs. for petrol, and nearly Rs 12 for diesel on Thursday (Nov. 4).
People got the much-needed respite from hiked fuel prices on the day of festival of lights Diwali.
Over the past several weeks, fuel prices were consistently on the rise, leading to resentment among the public and severe criticism of the federal government from the Opposition political parties.
