Federation writes a letter to Health Minister Satyendar Jain

New Delhi, Nov. 21 (Delhi Crown): The Delhi State Paramedical Technical Employees Federation (DSPTEF) has approached state’s Health Minister Satyendar Jain highlighting the fact that female employees of Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic (AAMC) are denied maternity leave.

In a letter the Federation also conveyed to the minister that the female employees of AAMC were always “under a fear of losing their job” in the event of taking leaves before and after the delivery.

“AAMC is a flagship programme of Delhi Government which is not only popular in Delhi but also in foreign countries. With these AAMC you have also given employment to thousands of unemployed youths of Delhi,” said a letter written by the Federation to the minister.

“In the absence of any maternity leave and fear of losing their job, the newly married female staff are in a dilemma whether to expand their family or not,” said the letter.

Urging the minister to grant maternity leaves to their female staff, the Federation told the minister – “keeping in view the above facts and Maternity Benefit Act you are humbly requested to issue necessary directions to provide maternity leave as per the Maternity Benefit Act to the female staff of AAMC.”

The letter was written by Chairman Jair Prakash and Bhupendra Kumar on behalf of the Federation.
