Decision taken to mobilise human resources amid surge in Covid cases

New Delhi, Jan. 5 (Delhi Crown): The Delhi Government on Wednesday cancelled all leaves granted to its employees, except medical leaves, in a bid to mobilise human resources at various levels in the national capital in the wake of sudden surge in new Covid cases here.

The Delhi government employees have been directed not to go on station leave until further orders.

On Wednesday Delhi reported as many as 10,665 fresh cases and 8 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total number of Active cases stand at 23,307, even as the Positivity Tate has risen to 11.88%.

An office memorandum issued by Deputy Secretary (Services) Amitabh Joshi, said that the state government has observed that number so Covdid-19 cases, including Omicron variant, have been rapidly increasing over the past few days and Positivity Rate too has crossed 6% which is considered in the Red Zone.

“Therefore, it has been decided to cancel all leaves granted except medical leaves, to all officials in all departments/offices of GNCT of Delhi and is further directed that no leave, except medical leave, shall be granted.”

The cancellation of leaves is after considering the grimness of the situation in order to contain the pandemic spread.
