Delhi has over 4000 new Covid cases, Positivity Rate crosses 6%: Minister
Says 84% of new cases of Omicron variant
New Delhi, Jan. 3 (Delhi Crown): Delhi is witnessing over 4000 new Covid cases a day and the Positivity Rate might shoot up beyond 6%, said Health Minister Satyendra Jain on Monday.
The Positivity Rate has been consistently rising over the past three-four days in Delhi.
According to him, more cases of Omicron variant infections were coming to the fore, though bed occupancy at hospitals was low.
Experts have opined that the number of Covid cases may peak in the national capital in a week’s time. Jain was quoted as saying – “84% of the COVID19 cases reported in Delhi in the past 2 days were of the Omicron variant.
Delhi’s expected to report around 4,000 cases today with the positivity rate rising to 6.5%. Currently, 202 patients are admitted to Delhi hospitals.”
