New Delhi, Nov. 17 (Delhi Crown): Over the past 40 days the Dwarka Police’s CAIF (Cell Against Illegal Foreigners) has nabbed over 200 foreigners staying illegally here.

“After taking charge of the Dwarka district I had constituted CAIF which works in identifying, catching, deporting or criminally prosecuting illegal foreigners staying in areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Dwarka district police,” DCP Shankar Choudhary told media persons on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference at Delhi Police Headquarters, DCP Choudhary told media persons that the CAIF has brought about good results as it has nabbed over 200 foreign nationals, mostly Africans, over the past 40 days.

According to the top cop of the Dwarka district, besides nabbing such illegal foreigners, the CAIF also ensures that the property dealers and landlords found involved in facilitating stay of such foreigners are also rounded up.

“CAIF registers police cases against such property dealers and landlords who allow or facilitate stay of such illegal foreigners without checking their credentials,” added DCP Choudhary.

He stated that in a major catch, a Nigerian national was nabbed on Nov. 15 along with high-quality heroin worth Rs 5 crore in international market.

The African national was nabbed from Mohan Garden area of Dwarka by a Anti-Narcotics Team led by ACP Vijay Singh Yadav, added DCP Choudhary.
