New Delhi, Jan. 27 (Delhi Crown): A video has gone viral showing a group of women beating up the Shahdara gangrape victim with a garland of shoes and chappals around her neck, her hair chopped off and her face blackened, amid cheers from the crowd comprising mostly women.
The victim was allegedly gangraped on Wednesday. Four youths have been arrested in this regard so far.
The victim is seen in peril, pleading the women to leave her. One of the women holding her hostage is also heard asking the victim what crime her son had committed.
Those standing in the vicinity are seen slapping the woman repeatedly.
Taking a strong note of the video, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal urged the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to take a stringent action against the culprits.
“Delhiites will not tolerate such heinous crimes,” tweeted the CM.
Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal had tweeted the video of the victim being shamed in public.
