New Delhi, March 21 (Delhi Crown): Nitin Sehrawat (19), one of the accused who fired gunshots at Chhawla village on March 9 and injured one person, has been arrested by the Dwarka Police on the charge of attempt to murder.
Nitin’s father Pradeep Sehrawat, who is one of the sharp-shooters of Vikas Lagarpuriya’s gang, was too involved in the crime, and continues to be at large.
A police team under the supervision of ACP (Operations) Vijay Singh Yadav cracked the blind attempt-to-murder case, said the Dwarka Police in a statement.
The victim who had received gunshot injuries was identified as Deepak Shokeen, the owner of Sapna Tent House at Chhawla village.
The accused was arrested from Shyam Vihar, near Najafgarh, after the Dwarka Police carried out raids at several possible hideouts in Delhi and Haryana.
During interrogation, Nitin Sehrawat revealed to the police that March 9 he along
with his father Pradeep Sehrawat and one Jodha (friend of his father Pradeep) were coming from Nangal Devat in a car.
At about 09.30 p.m. they reached the Chhawla village and stopped the car for purchasing some fruits. In between a hot argument started between his father and one resident of Chhawla village. That person started abusing his father despite saying that he is a member of Vikas Lagarpuriya gang and his name is Bablu Nangliya.
But that person continuously scolded his father by saying that he doesn’t know any Vikas lagarpuriya and Bablu Nangliya. After that, they fired upon that person and fled away from the spot.
Search is on to nab Pradeep Sehrawat, said the police.
