3 accused nabbed; Used to deliver stolen cars in Assam

New Delhi, Jan. 29 (Delhi Crown): An inter-state gang of vehicle-lifters has been busted with the arrest of three persons, one hailing from Jhajjar, one from Rohini, Delhi and the third from Gurugram.

A total of 10 luxury cars were recovered from the accused persons’ possession, mostly stolen from areas falling under South-West Delhi and Gurugram.

The gang was busted by a team of AATS Dwarka led ACP Vijay Singh Yadav and headed by Sub-Inspector Vikas Yadav.

On January 17 when the police team was present in the area of Dwarka North, an information was received that one notorious auto-lifter who was previously involved in several theft cases, was standing near Shree Awas Appt, Sec. 18, Dwarka in a stolen Maruti Brezza car.

As per information, the suspect may be in possession of loaded illegal firearms. Accordingly, a raiding team was constituted and in the instances of secret informer, the driver of the white Brezza car was asked to open his car.

But he tried to run away and hit the divider of the road. His car was damaged and he tried to escape, but S-I Vikash Yadav and Head Constable Sonu overpowered him.

He was later identified as Sunil (46) a resident of Jhajjar district of Haryana. One loaded country-made pistol with another one live cartridge was recovered from his possession.

During interrogation Sunil revealed the names of his two accomplices – Vikas (35), a resident of Rohini, Delhi, and Raj Kumar Sharma (65), a resident of Bhim Gharh Khari area in Gurugram.

It was gathered that over the past several years Sunil had delivered more than 200 cars to one Khan, a resident of Assam, through Raj Kumar Sharma of Gurugram.

One ID card of the Anti-Corruption and Crime Control Force was also recovered from Raj Kumar Sharma’s possession which he used for clear pass through the police pickets/checking during delivery of stolen vehicles to Assam.
