Two vehicle-thieves nabbed from near Najafgarh
2 Maruti Vans, 3 motor-cycles, 2 Scootys recovered
New Delhi, April 9 (Delhi Crown): With the arrest of two auto-lifters from Najafgarh area, the Dwarka District Police on Saturday claimed to have solved as many as 12 cases of vehicles thefts, and recovered two Maruti Vans, three motor-cycles, two Scootys, five car batteries and various equipment used in unlocking the vehicles.
The accused have been identified as Robert (40) and Dhirender (22), both residents of Kali Pyau area in Janta Vihar near Najafgarh.
According to the local police, Robert is married and has two kids. He is previously involved in 15 cases of vehicles thefts. Dhirender is unmarried and an e-Riksha driver. He came in contact with Robert recently, and joined him in stealing vehicles in a bid to earn easy money.
The vehicles recovered from the duo’s possession were stolen from various areas in Delhi, including Chhawla, BHD Nagar, Mohan Garden, Mundka, Bindapur, Subhash Place, Hari Nagar, besides Indrapuram in Ghaziabad.
Under the supervision of ACP (Dwarka) Vijay Singh Yadav, a dedicated police team cracked the case. The team included Inspector Kamlesh Kumar, Sub-Inspectors Vikash Yadav and Dinesh Kumar, Head Constables Jagat, Ramrai, Amit Kumar, Constables Inder, Parveen and Arvind.
During interrogation, Robert disclosed to the police that he used to sell the stolen vehicles to one Aarif, a resident of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh. Search is on to nab Aarif, said the Dwarka Police.
