Two snatchers arrested from Mitraon village of South-West Delhi

Had snatched Rs 7600 from Najafgarh Market in broad daylight

New Delhi, March 9 (Delhi Crown): The Najafgarh Police have nabbed two robbers/snatchers, both residents of Mitraon village of South-West Delhi, for committing a robbery in broad daylight in the heart of the town on March 6.

The two have been identified as Keshav S/o Manoj Kumar and Arun S/o Balram. Keshan was found to be involved in another case of robbery registered at Jaffarpur Kalan Police Station last year.

According to Dwarka DCP Shankar Chaudhary, the duo was nabbed with the help of CCTVs installed in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene.

On March 6, at about 5.30 p.m. complainant Shree Narayan had reported to the Najafgarh Police that he had gone to the market to purchase a mobile phone but some documents were sought by the SIM provider. So, he was going back to his house on his bicycle and when he reached in a street besides Aggarwal Sweets, two unknown Scooty-borne persons stopped him and engaged in a squabble.

One of them forcefully took out Rs 7600 and some cards from his pocket and both fled. On his statement, a case was registered at Najafgarh Police Station and investigation was taken up.

With the help of CCTV cameras, one vehicle was found suspicious at the place of the incident. On the basis of other CCTV cameras, the registration number of the suspect vehicle was ascertained.

The owner of the vehicle was found to be one Mohit Kumar who told the Police that his vehicle was being used by his brother Keshav. After several raids Keshav was apprehended. On interrogation, he disclosed that he had committed the crime along with his other associate Arun.

Thereafter, accused Arun was also arrested at his instance.

The accused persons led to the recovery of the Scooty used in the crime and Rs. 4000, said the police.
