Total 45 persons duped to the tune of Rs 4.6 crores

New Delhi, Jan. 5 (Delhi Crown): Two persons have been arrested in Delhi for allegedly duping several people to the tune of crores of rupees in the name of a land pooling scheme.

The arrested were made by the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police.

Taking idea from the yet-to-be-announced DDA’s (Delhi Development Authority) Land Pooling Policy, the duo floated a bogus society in the name of MTNL Employees Housing Welfare Society without RERA (Real Estate Regulation Authority) registration.

The said housing society had no relation with the Mahanagar Telecom Nigam Limited (MTNL).

Investors were lured through brokers and advertisements. Once the money was invested by the duped persons, it was diverted to a land facilitator called “Matrix Enterprises’.

So far, the duo had duped as many as 45 persons to the tune of Rs 4.6 crores, said the Delhi Police.

The DDA is expected to soon announce a Land Pooling Scheme, under which several developmental projects, including residential and commercial, would be announced across Delhi, particularly in North-West, West and South-West parts of Delhi.
