Mobile phone snatchers arrested by Mohan Garden Police
Two of them are druggists, and targeted the lone victim on bicycle
New Delhi, Dec. 27 (Delhi Crown): The Mohan Garden Police have arrested three persons accused of snatching a mobile phone to meet their drugs (smack) needs.
The three accused persons have been identified as Nitin (39), a resident of Rohini Sector 11, Rahul alias Chhote (26) and Rahul alias Harpreet (32), both residents of Uttam Nagar.
They had snatched a mobile phone on the intervening night of Dec. 21-22, from one Sachin Kumar (25) while he was going home on a bicycle after his work-shift at BarGrill Restaurant in Dwarka Sec-10.
The incident happened on Najafgarh Road near Rama Park T-Point at about 00.50 hrs.
Nitin & Rahul alias Chhote are said to be habitual druggists. They are known to each other for 7 years, and used to run a taxi turn wise for 12 hours. On the intervening night of Dec. 21-22, they were consuming smack in the moving taxi and when it finished they wanted more.
In order to have easy money, they spotted an easy victim Sachin going alone on a bicycle. Rahul alias Chhote with a screwdriver & Rahul alias Hardeep with a kitchen knife got down from the car and robbed Sachin of his mobile phone.
They had covered the number plate of the taxi, which they used in the crime, with mud. The Mohan Garden Police surfed through hundreds of CCTV footage for nearly five days and finally zeroed in on the trio.
