Three Indian Navy personnel die in explosion inside ship
New Delhi, Jan. 18 (Delhi Crown): As many as three Indian Navy (IN) personnel died in an explosion that occurred in an internal compartment onboard Indian Navy Ship (INS) “Ranvir”, an official statement said on Tuesday.
The mishap occurred at the Naval Dockyard Mumbai.
“The ship’s crew responded immediately and quickly brought the situation under control. No major material damage has been reported,” said the statement.
It further stated that “INS Ranvir” was on cross coast operational deployment from the Eastern Naval Command since Nov 2021 and was due to return to base port shortly. A Board of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate into the cause that led to the explosion.
