Investigation Officer clueless even after 36 hours

New Delhi, Feb. 15 (Delhi Crown): An SUV was stolen from outside the Regalia Banquet Hall in Mayapuri, Ringroad, in Delhi’s West Police District late on Sunday night while the owner was attending a wedding function.

Victim Dinesh Khetrapal is a resident of Gurugram’s Sector-47. He said he had parked his vehicle (HR26 DC 3466) just outside the Toyota Showroom adjacent to the Regalia Banquet Hall at around 9:00 p.m. and realised it had been stolen when he came out at around 11:15 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police personnel seem clueless about the robbery.

Though an FIR was registered immediately after the robbery, Investigation Officer Shishpal Singh, posted at Mayapuri Police Station, told THE DELHI CROWN over phone – “We are waiting for the owner of the car to come to us to establish where the car was parked at the time it was stolen. Only after that we can initiate the proceedings in the case. What can we do, unless the stolen car’s owner doesn’t reach us and visit the spot once again with us.”

According to the victim, who is a real estate agent in Gurugram, the stolen car contained around Rs 100,000 and a number of property documents concerning different properties.
