Shootout in North Delhi, 22 rounds fired

New Delhi, March 1 (Delhi Crown): Two sharpshooters of Kala Jathedi gang were held by the Delhi Police after a shootout that saw as many as 22 rounds being fired early on Tuesday morning, confirmed a senior cop to THE DELHI CROWN.

The Delhi Police team that overpowered the two sharpshooters was led by Inspector Sandeep Yadav and also included a Woman Constable Rashmi.

Two pistols, 4 bullets, 8 cartridges and one stolen motor-cycle were recovered from their possession.

According to DCP (Outer-North) Brijendra Kumar Yadav, the duo have been identified as Parvinder alias Kala (31), a resident of Haryana’s Lava Majra, and Tony (22), a resident of village Kaling in Bhiwani district.

They were on a mission to kill gangster Sunil alias Tillu and a Delhi Police constable on the direction of their gang’s masters Goldy Brar and Kala Jathedi.

Based on a secret information, the team led by Inspector Sandeep Yadav had laid a trap on the Alipur-Budhpur Road.

At around 2.30 a.m. on the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday, the police team spotted two persons coming on a motorcycle. The police indicated them to stop but the duo tried to escape and opened fire.

The police party fired in return and an encounter ensued. True to the police’s script, one of the bullets fired by the two gangsters passed-by the ear of Head Constable Satender and two bullets hit Woman Constable Rashmi’s bullet-proof jacket..!

On interrogation it was revealed that Parminder alias Kala was wanted in various heinous crimes, including one murder in Bengaluru and several dacoities in Delhi and Haryana worth lakhs of rupees.

He revealed that he was an accomplice of Mithun, an active member of Kala Jathedi gang, and had fled to Nepal after Mithun’s arrest sometime ago.
