Shantishree Dhulipudi Pandit is new JNU V-C
New Delhi, Feb. 7 (Delhi Crown): Prof. Shantishree Dhulipudi Pandit of Savitribai Phule University has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of JNU.
Also an alumnus of JNU, Prof. Shantishree succeeds Jagadesh Kumar who has been appointed as the Chairman of the UGC.
She will be the first woman Vice Chancellor of JNU.
According to education ministry officials, the tenure of Professor Pandit as VC of Jawaharlal Nehru University will be for a period of five years. JNU Visitor and President Ram Nath Kovind had issued the appointment orders of Professor Shantisree Dhulipudi Pandit as JNU Vice Chancellor.
Professor Pandit has guided 29 PhD scholars during his academic career.
