5 girls, Spa owner arrested

New Delhi, Dec. 5 (Delhi Crown): The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch on Sunday claimed to have busted a sex racket at a Spa Centre in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area.

According to DCP (Crime Branch) Monika Bhardwaj, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit has busted a sex-racket operating in the area of Malviya Nagar, Delhi under the garb of Spa Centre where girls were being offered for paid sex by the owner & staff of the Spa.

Acting on an input about the ongoing sex racket, a team of AHTU/Crime comprising of SI Gunjan Singh, SI Suman, ASI Rani Reddy, ASI Balraj, ASI Hukam, ASI Sanjay, HC Jasbir and Woman Constable Sweety led by Inspector Amleshwar Rai was constituted under over all supervision of ACP S.K. Gulia, to enquire the input and take legal action in the event of information being true.

Relevant roles were assigned to different team members such as that of decoy customer, shadow customer etc. to deal with the staff and girls at the Spa.

As per the role assigned, team members visited the Spa, Ayurveda and Panchkarma Therapy Centre at Savitri Nagar in Malviya Nagar, where, after placing a demand for seeking services of girls & negotiations thereafter at the reception, receptionist provided three girls to decoy customer for paid sex and took Rs 2000 as her commission for the two girls that were selected by the decoy customer.

After ascertaining the information of illegal activity in the Spa and initial formalities, police team swung into action and detained the accused persons. Three mobile phones which were used to contact client/customer for prostitution, Rs. 2000 which agent/receptionist received as commission for the two girls for paid sex, apart from other suspicious material, were seized.

On interrogation, it was found that the Spa Centre was functioning for past 5-6 months and it used to provide girls for paid sex and charged Rs. 1000/- as commission for each girl. 

Deals were finalized through reception after initial verification.

Five women, including receptionist apart from Spa Centre’s owner Mohit Tiwari (37), a resident of Shiva Kunj in Agra, were arrested in this case.  Further investigation of the case is in progress, said DCP Monika.
