Seven Army personnel die after being struck by avalanche in Arunachal
New Delhi, Feb. 8 (Delhi Crown): In an unfortunate incident, as many as seven Indian Army personnel died in an avalanche in Arunachal Pradesh.
Part of a patrolling party along the international border with China, they were buried under the snow after an avalanche hit in the Kameng Sector of Arunachal Pradesh on February 6.
According to the Indian Army, the bodies have been retrieved from the avalanche site.
The Army had airlifted search and rescue teams to the location.
In a statement the Indian Army stated that the area has been reporting inclement weather with heavy snowfall for the last several days.
