President Kovind bats for All India Judicial Services for right talent
Says the idea hasn’t been tested for over half a century
New Delhi, Nov. 27 (Delhi Crown): President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday stressed on the need for All India Judicial Services, saying it will bring the right talent to the judiciary.
Speaking at the Constitution Day celebration a better way may be found to select Judges for the Higher Judiciary without diluting independence of Judiciary.
He suggested the All India Judicial Service can select, nurture and promote the right talent right from lower levels to the higher levels. “The idea is not new and has been around for more than half a century, without being tested,” he added
“I’m sure there could also be other better suggestions. Ultimately the aim should be to strengthen the Justice delivery mechanism,” the President said.
Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, Supreme Court judges Justices A.M. Khanwilkar and L. Nageswara Rao also spoke at the function.
