PM Modi apprises Prez about security breach in Punjab
New Delhi, Jan. 6 (Delhi Crown): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday and apprised him about the security breach that happened on Wednesday while he was touring Punjab.
The President expressed his concerns about the serious lapse, said a source at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
While on a visit to Punjab, PM’s convoy was stopped by a group of protesters. After stuck for 15-20 minutes the PM’s convoy returned to Bathinda.
Alleging a “serious security lapse”, the Union Home Ministry has sought a detailed report from the state government.
While returning to Delhi, PM Modi told a state government official, “Please convey my thanks to your Chief Minister that I am going back alive.”
Later last evening, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi denied the allegations, also levelled by the BJP, that there was an attempt to attack the PM during his visit.
