Over Rs 99 lakhs collected in fines for violating Covid protocols
66 FIRs registered on Jan. 1
New Delhi, Jan. 2 (Delhi Crown): The Delhi Government collected more than Rs 99 lakhs in the form of fines and registered as many as 66 FIRs on January 1, for violation of Covid-19 protocols.
A “Yellow Alert” had been sounded in the national capital earlier this week by the Delhi Government in the wake of sudden rise in Covid and Omicron variant cases.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had appealed to Delhiites not to venture out unnecessarily, wear proper face masks, maintain social distancing at public places, and strictly follow the Night Curfew timings.
