Najafgarh Police nab chain snatchers

Chain snatching reported from Ajay Park in Najafgarh on Nov. 19

New Delhi, Nov. 21 (Delhi Crown): With the arrest of three persons the Najafgarh Police on Sunday (Nov. 21) claimed to have solved a gold chain snatching case that occurred on Friday (Nov. 19).

Complainant Nirmal Sharma (45), a resident of Palam Village, stated to the local police that while she was standing outside her relative’s house at Ajay Park in Najafgarh, two boys came on a motorcycle and snatched her gold chain on Friday (Nov. 19), at around 1.00 p.m.

During investigation, the police team searched around 60-70 CCTVs and meticulously went through hours of footage. They got footage of the accused and the bike used in crime.

The vehicle was found to be stolen from Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad.

The two accused were identified as Vipin (28) alias Sonu, a resident of Baprolla, Ranhola in Najafgarh and one Vikas.

After a long chase and meticulous efforts, accused Vipin alias Sonu was apprehended at the instance of an informer.

This accused was correctly identified by the complainant of the case.

Thereafter, at the instance of the accused Vipin alias Sonu receiver Amir Ali and Rohit were arrested.  Pure gold weighing 10 small pieces made out of melting two snatched golf chains was recovered from their possession.

Further efforts to nab accused Vikas are on, said a local cop. The police that cracked the case was led by SHO Najafgarh in close supervision of ACP Najafgarh, and included Sub-Inspector Dyanender Pratap, Head Constable Paramjeet, Head Constable Bhagirath and Constable Deepak.
