Mobile-snatcher nabbed in Uttam Nagar

New Delhi, Dec. 12 (Delhi Crown): The Uttam Nagar police have arrested one Deepak Singh (22), a resident of Ranhola, who had snatched a mobile-phone a couple of days ago, said Dwarka DCP Shankar Choudhary on Sunday.

With his arrest, the local police claimed to have solved as many as three cases of snatching and theft.

The victim Upinder Vishal (32), a resident Ranhola, had complained to the local police that two boys had snatched his mobile phone on Friday at around 9.30 p.m. The incident had occurred at 40-Futa Road (Hastal Village) near Anand Vatika in Uttam Nagar.

“Two boys came on motorcycle No. DL4S CW 3725 from his backside and after snatching his mobile. When they tried to flee he caught one person along with his motorcycle. Another boy run away with the snatched mobile phone. On the statement of the complainant a police complaint was registered,” said DCP Choudhary.

A police team comprising ASI Suresh Kumar and Constable Sombir lead by Inspector Govind Singh worked hard on the clues, CCTVs and other inputs and arrested Deepak Singh.

On sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that he along with Sahil committed the offence. Despite interrogation, at length, he could not disclose the whereabouts and contact details of Sahil.

After the incident, Sahil had fled away from the spot with the mobile phone of the complainant.

Further police investigation is on to nab the other accused and recover the stolen mobile phone, said the police.
