Minor girl kidnapped from Mohan Garden rescued from Rudrapur

Accused identified as Riyaz Ahmad of Pilibhit, UP

New Delhi, Nov. 20 (Delhi Crown): In a major breakthrough, the Mohan Garden Police in Dwarka district rescued a minor girl kidnapped on Nov. 12 and nabbed the accused named Riyaz Ahmad, a resident of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh who worked at a nearby mobile shop.

The accused had shifted to Delhi four years ago.

According to DCP Dwarka Shankar Choudhary, the 16-year-old minor girl went missing on Nov. 12 at around 4:30 p.m. from Gali No. 8, Rama Park Road afrea of Mohan Garden in Uttam Nagar.

Subsequently an FIR was registered under Section 363 IPC and investigation was launched.

During the course of investigation, it came to notice that one person namely Riyaz Ahmad who was working at a nearby mobile shop was the prime suspect.

Technical surveillance was extensively done on the known mobile numbers of the victim, his friends and other persons. However, the same could not fetch any clue.

Meanwhile, valuable support was obtained from Cyber Cell, Dwarka Distt and the location of the victim as well as the accused was zeroed down at Rudrapur, Uttrakhand. Immediately a team comprising Sub-Inspector Ram Niwas, Assistant Sub-Inspector Manoj  Kumar and Woman Constable Roshan was despatched to Rudrapur and the kidnapped girl was rescued on Nov. 18.

The accused too was detained from Rudrapur.

The medical examination of the victim was conducted at DDU hospital and her statement was recorded before a district Court. After statement u/s 164 Cr.P.C., Section 6 POCSO Act was added in the case, said a senior cop.

The police team which cracked the kidnapping case was led by Mohan Garden SHO Rajesh Maurya.
