Mamata Banerjee to campaign for Samajwadi Party in UP

To hold virtual rally with Akhilesh in Feb.

New Delhi, Jan. 18 (Delhi Crown): West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee, who singlehandedly defeated the BJP in the last Assembly Polls in her state, will campaign for the Samajwadi Party (SP) ahead of the ensuing Assembly polls in UP.

Mamata will join Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav in his upcoming rally in Lucknow for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, party vice-president Kiranmoy Nanda said on Tuesday.

After meeting Mamata in Kolkata, Nanda said that the TMC chief will hold a joint virtual rally with Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow on February 8. The rally will be followed by a press conference.

The two leaders also plan to do to a virtual rally in Varanasi later, added Nanda. The SP leader said that the TMC has decided to lend outside support to SP during the UP election and will not content the poll.
