Kejriwal promises Gujaratis unemployment allowance @Rs. 3000/month till one gets a job
Says present BJP govt. in the state is under a debt of Rs 3.5 lakh crores
New Delhi, Aug. 1 (Delhi Crown): Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) National Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Monday promised to the people of Gujarat that every unemployed youth will be given employment, and till one gets employment he/she will get as an “unemployment allowance” of Rs 3000 per month.
Kejriwal’s promise assumes significance even as the state goes to Assembly polls in five months from now.
He also declared that if his party “AAP” was voted to power in the forthcoming Assembly Polls it would create 10 lakh vacancies in government departments in 5 years.
The Delhi CM said that giving freebies to the public doesn’t result in deficit budgets or debts of the state governments.
“The BJP has been in power for so many years in Gujarat now. Here power is too expensive and nothing is given to the public for free, even then the state is in a debt of Rs 3.5 lakh crores. Why is it so? On the other hand, in Delhi we are giving free power, free education, free health facilities and despite that our government has been giving surplus budgets year after year,” said Kejriwal while addressing a public rally in Gujarat on Monday.
The Delhi CM also cited the example of the new AAP government in Punjab where, according to him, people have started getting free power every month with effect from July 1.
He further alleged that the actual cause of the huge debt on the Gujarat Government was the “rampant corruption”.
“People in Gujarat tell me that they get fake electricity bills running in several thousands of rupees, or even lakhs. And, when they approach the state’s electricity department the officials ask for a bribe of Rs 5000 per bill to rectify them. There is rampant corruption in Gujarat today, which results in deficit budgets and the huge debt,” claimed Kejriwal.
Accusing the BJP government in Gujarat for the recent hooch tragedy which claimed several lives, Kejriwal told to those present at the public rally – “Vote for the BJP again if you want your children to die after drinking spurious liquor, but if you want jobs, good education and good hospitals then vote for the AAP in the ensuing elections.”
