Accused used to target cars parked in Sadar Bazar area

New Delhi, April 9 (Delhi Crown): The Gurugram Police claimed to have arrested three members of the Thak-Thak gang who used to break the windscreens/window-glasses of cars and steal the valuables kept inside, including laptops, mobile phones and cash, etc.

The three accused have been identified as Venkateshwaran Raghodheeran and Guna Thanikaslam, both residents of Tamil Nadu, and one Natraj P., a resident of Karnataka.

Using catapults to break the windscreens and window-panes, they used to target cars mainly parked in Gurugram’s Sadar Bazar area.

The three accused told the Police that in some cases where the car-owner sat inside the car, they used to drop some currency notes and coins near the car and tell the car-owner that his cash had fallen down.

As the car-owner stepped out of his car, they used to open the other side door and decamp with the valuables kept inside the car.

The three are learnt to have admitted to have committed over a dozen such cases in Gurugram Sadar Bazar area over the past few months.

The Gurugram Police recovered three Laptops, two Mobile Phones, 2 Wrist-Watches, Gold/Silver Jewellery, 3 Ladies Bags, 3 Liquor bottles, and Rs 2,62,990 from the accused.

They also recovered three catapults and 29 metal balls which they used in breaking the glasses.

Venkateshwaran was nabbed by the Gurugram Police from near the Delhi Airport on April 3, and at his instance the rest two were nabbed on Saturday (April 9) from village Ghazipur in Delhi.

During interrogation, Venkateshwaran disclosed to the Gurugram Police that on March 25 they had broke the glass of a car parked opposite the Gurugram Civil Hospital and had stolen a bag containing cash and some papers.
