Inter-state drugs racket busted in Delhi

A Delhi-based practicing lawyer too a part of the drugs trafficking racket

New Delhi, Jan. 9 (Delhi Crown): The East district police claimed to havebusted an inter-state drug racket in Delhi on Saturday (Jan. 8).

Among the four drug peddlers nabbed are a former state-level body builder and one practicing lawyer.

The arrests were made by the Special Staff of East District Police, said DCP (East) Priyanka Kashyap.

According to the local DCP, the accused have been identified as Ankit Nayyar (23), his brother Danish Nayyar (26), Gaurav Gagrena (29) a resident of Delhi, and Manish Sharma (30) a resident of Krishna Nagar.

A total of 1200 grams of high-quality Charas (charcoal) worth Rs 9,60,000 was recovered from the four accused’s possession. They were caught by the police while travelling in a rented car to deliver the drug, said the DCP.

The drug was being supplied from Manali, Himachal Pradesh. The Nayyar brothers were said to be involved in drugs trafficking for the past six years. Manish Sharma has been a state-level body-builder, and was a Gym-trainer but had lost his job due to lockdown amid Covid. Gaurab Gagrena is said to be a practising lawyer in Delhi.
