Inter-state arms suppliers gang busted after shootout near Rohini
Duo used to supply arms to Lawrance Bishnoi & Kala Jathedi gangs
New Delhi, Feb. 8 (Delhi Crown): The Delhi Police nabbed two arms suppliers early on Tuesday morning after a brief shootout near Rohini.
The duo, identified as Rafat Khan (28) and Md. Ayaz (30), are residents of the Firozabad district in Uttar Pradesh.
They were allegedly involved in supplying illegal arms to the gangs of Lawrance Bishnoi and Kala Jathedi. A huge consignment of illegal weapons was recovered from them.
Acting on a tip-off received by Woman Constable Reena, a police team of the AATS (Outer North District) led by Inspector Sandeep Yadav laid a trap on a road from Mahadev Chowk to Khera Gaon, Sec- 29 Rohini, in a bid to arrest the duo.
The police team also comprised Inspector Braham Dev, Sub-Inspectors Ajay, Rakesh, Assistant Sub-Inspector Rakesh, Head Constables Amit, Yogender, Constables Brijesh, Robin.
Giving details of the trap and the resulting shootout, a Delhi Police cop told THE DELHI CROWN – “One white car was seen coming from Mahadev Chowk side and moving towards Khera Gaon road. The driver of the car was signalled to stop by the police team, but he did not stop and tried to flee. The police party tried to apprehend him and finding himself surrounded by the police team he started firing and tried to run away and left his car on the roadside.”
He added – “The accompanying person sitting on the side seat inside the car pulled out the pistol and started firing at the police party. Police party also fired to warn him but he continued firing.”
In order to deter the criminals from absconding the police party also fired at them, and one bullet fired by police party hit in the right thigh of one of the accused.
Later, both were overpowered and nabbed by the police personnel.
