Indians returning from war-torn Ukraine bring along pets
Gautam brought home a cat & Zahid got his friend’s dog
New Delhi, March 3 (Delhi Crown): Indians returning from war-torn Ukraine are bringing back pets – dogs and cats, along with them as the evacuees felt that they (pets) would have left stranded after their owners escaped to safer zones leaving them behind to be on their own.
Gautam, an Indian student who landed here on Thursday (March 3) brought along a Ukraine cat along with him in the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) C-17 flight which he boarded from Poland after escaping from Kyiv, Ukraine, along with the pet kept in a little box.
Gautam landed at Hindon Airbase near Delhi on Thursday morning.
“This cat has been with me for the past 4 months. It stayed with me in the bunker, and then we crossed into Poland together,” Gautam told media persons while showing the cat sitting in a little box.
In the same IAF flight was Zahid, a student rescued from Ukraine, who landed at Hindan airbase along with a pet dog. Zahid said – “I have brought my friend’s dog with me from Ukraine. Many people who had dogs left them behind in Ukraine, but I brought back this dog along with me.”
