Indian Army chopper crashes in Kashmir

New Delhi, March 11 (Delhi Crown): An Indian Army’s “Cheetah” helicopter crashed in the Tulail area of Gurez in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday afternoon, confirmed the Defence officials.

The Army chopper crashed in the Gujran Nallah area in the Gurez Valley, following which a rescue operation was launched immediately.

Fate of the pilot and the co-pilot was being ascertained. It is believed that the pilot and the co-pilot ejected safely, but there has been no word from officials yet, said a media report.

A local administration official at Gurez was quoted as saying that communication with the ill-fated Army chopper was lost. “We are ascertaining the details,” he reportedly said.
