India asks its nationals to leave Kyiv urgently
Putin seems in a mood to capture Ukraine’s capital
New Delhi, March 1 (Delhi Crown): The Indian embassy in Ukraine on Tuesday issued a new advisory asking all its nationals to immediately leave the capital city Kyiv by any means of transport available.
“All Indian nationals including students are advised to leave Kyiv urgently today. Preferably by available trains or through any other means available,” said the latest advisory issued by Indian embassy in Kyiv.
The advisory assumed significance Russia intensified its invasion on Ukraine and its forces came very close to Kyiv. Huge explosions were seen and heard in and around Kyiv over the past 12 hours, even as Russian President Vladimir Putin seems in a mood to capture the Ukraine capital city.
Meanwhile, the Indian Government continues to focus on evacuation of Indians from Ukraine through its borders in western side. The Indians stuck anywhere in Ukraine have been advised to western borders and stay in nearby towns till the Indian embassy officials contact them for evacuation.
Four cabinet ministers – Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju, Hardeep Singh Puri and V.K. Singh have tasked to oversee the evacuation of Indians from countries located next to Ukraine.
According to sources at the Ministry of External Affairs, nearly 10,000 Indians have left Ukraine so far, ever since the Indian Government started issuing advisories to its nationals in the war-torn country.
