IIT-Delhi’s 3-member team visits Gurugram’s Chintel Paradiso

Carries out preliminary survey of towers

Gurugram, March 6 (Delhi Crown): A three-member team of experts from the Indian Institute of Delhi (IIT-D) on Sunday (March 6) visited Chintels Paradiso in Gurugram’s Sector-109, which had witnessed a vertical collapse in the living room area of Tower-D from the sixth floor to the ground floor on Feb. 10.

Two female residents had died and a few others were injured in the mishap unprecedented in India’s real estate history.

The IIT-D team comprising Dr. Shashank Bishnoi, Prof. Vasant Mansahar and Prof. Deepti Rajan visited the housing society and carried out a pre-audit survey done.

They also did a visual inspection of towers and basement.

“They will come back with interim report and further plan for collecting samples and doing tests within a week,” said one of the residents of Chintels Paradiso while speaking to www.thedelhicrown.com over phone.

The IIT-Delhi team also held a meeting with the housing society’s residents. City’s DTP (Enforcement) R.S. Bhatt was also present at the meeting.

Despite repeated demands from the angry residents, no arrests have been made yet. Residents continue with their hunger strike at the gates of the housing society demanding builders’ arrests and a stern action against them.
