Gurugram woman jumps out of moving auto to save herself from ‘kidnapping’ bid
She thought broken bones are better than getting lost
New Delhi, Dec. 22 (Delhi Crown): A young woman in her late 20s had to jump out of a moving auto-rickshaw in Gurugram’s Sector-22 to save herself from a possible “abduction/ kidnapping” bid.
Taking to twitter to narrate her ordeal, the woman Nishtha Paliwal, who describes herself as a “Communications Specialist” mentioned on her twitter-handle – “I thought broken bones are better than getting lost. And I jumped out of the moving auto! I don’t know how I got that courage.”
In her first tweet – “Yesterday was one of the scariest days of my life as I think I was almost abducted/ kidnapped. I don’t know what it was, it’s still giving me chills. Arnd 12:30 pm, I took an auto from the auto stand of a busy market Sec 22 (#Gurgaon) for my home which is like 7 mins away.”
In a series of 8 tweets, the woman alleged that the auto-driver intentionally took a wrong turn, and didn’t relent despite repeated warnings from her while she patted on her shoulders from the rear seat inside the auto.
The victimised woman was returning from the local market in Sector-22 on December 19 when this horrific incident happened in broad daylight.
The local police are said to be making efforts to trace down the auto-driver. Sector 22 falls under the Palam Vihar Police Station. Local SHO Jitendra Yadav reportedly assured her that they would trace down the accused auto-driver. The police team would use the CCTV footage in the area to trace the driver.
“Visited Palam Vihar police station. SHO Jitender Yadav himself assured that we will trace the person,” said in one of her tweets.
