Gurugram Police nab 51 persons during its “Night Domination Campaign”
4 illegal weapons seized, 28 vehicles impounded
Gurugram, June 11 (Delhi Crown): The Gurugram Police seized as many as four illegal weapons, around 350 alcohol bottles and 150 beer bottles, during its “Night Domination Campaign” carried out during the night intervening Friday/Saturday, confirmed police sources.
The city police nabbed a total of 51 accused, out of whom 36 have already been prosecuted against on different charges.
Around 500 police teams carried out surprise checking of a total of 4408 vehicles, out of which challans were issued for 171 vehicles on different grounds, and 28 vehicles were impounded for want of proper registration or driving documents.
Cases were registered against as many as 13 vehicle owners/drivers, said the sources.
The “Night Domination Campaign” was carried out from 10:00 p.m. on Friday till 04:00 a.m. on Saturday.
The surprise checking was carried out at a total of 333 public places across the city.
Top sources in Gurugram Police said that the similar rounds of surprise checking will be carried out in future too, in a bid to control the rising graph of crimes in the city.
Incidents of chain-snatching, vehicle thefts, robberies, and other heinous crimes have been on the rise in Gurugram over the past few months, particularly during the night or early morning hours.
The main objectives of “Night Domination Campaign” are to break down the morale of the criminals and ensure public’s safety and security, said a top cop.
