Food delivery boy took to robbery to get money for taking girlfriend to hill station!
Police nabbed him from South-West Delhi
New Delhi, March 23 (Delhi Crown): A food delivery boy in Haryana’s Gurugram took to committing robberies in a bid to collect money for taking his girlfriend to a hill station this summer.
Now, he is behind bars in Delhi after being arrested by the Dwarka District Police.
The team that cracked the bling robbery case worked under the direct supervision of Dwarka ACP (Operations) Vijay Singh Yadav, said the Dwarka’s Addl. DCP Vikram Singh.
Identified as Deepak Lamba (23), a resident of Ashok Vihar Phase-3 of Gurugram, he along with his two accomplices waylaid a transport vehicle loaded with vegetables in South-West Delhi and robbed its driver of his mobile phone and Rs. 800 before feeling away.
Subsequently, an FIR was registered at the Chhawla Police Station that falls under the Dwarka District Police.
The incident had happened on March 13 at around 9:30 p.m. at Rawta Mor near Najafgarh, at a distance of nearly 10 km from Lamba’s place of residence.
With the help of CCTV footages, the Dwarka Police managed to nab Deepak. Search is on for his two accomplices.
Police said the accused is fond of drinking alcohol and making new girlfriends. He along with his friends identified as Anil Sharma and Abhisekh Sekhi had prepared a plan to visit hill stations in Uttarakhand along with their girlfriends.
But for this they needed money, so they all planned to commit cash robberies, the police said he revealed during interrogation.
The accused was nabbed while he had come to meet someone at Jhatikra Nala road.
During interrogation, he is learnt to have confessed before the police about his involvement in the above-said robbery case.
