Female drug peddler nabbed in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar

Heroin worth Rs 60 lakhs recovered

New Delhi, Feb. 27 (Delhi Crown): A lady identified as Sunita (40), a resident of Uttam Nagar, has been nabbed by the Dwarka Police for allegedly being involved in drug peddling, confirmed the local police on Saturday.

A total of 60.87 grams of high-quality heroin worth Rs 60 lakhs in the international market, and Rs 31,167, were recovered from her possession.

According to the Dwarka Police, Sunita was actively engaged in supplying drugs for quite some time in several parts of South-West Delhi.

On Feb. 23 at around 9:00 a.m., ASI Kartar Singh received a specific information that one lady is indulged in supply of contrabands to her potential customers. The said information was further passed on to Dwarka (Operations) Vijay Singh Yadav, on whose direction ASI Kartar Singh was appointed to take the task and to constitute a team.

A dedicated team was deployed and put into action. On this information, a trap was laid near a house in Om Vihar Phase-5, Uttam nagar. Finally, Sunita was apprehended along with 60.87 grams of fine quality contraband packed in polythene packets.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 185/22 U/s 21 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Uttam Nagar and the investigation was taken up by ASI Vinod Kumar.

The accused lady was recently active in Uttam Nagar, Mohan Garden and West Delhi who took advantage of the dense population which provides for cheap rentals, indifferent attitude of landlords and a cover of anonymity for persons of various nationalities.

She further revealed that she purchased the Heroin from one lady namely Santra.
