Both stayed at the hotel for a month and escaped without paying bills
New Delhi, Jan.24 (Delhi Crown): A father-son duo have been arrested in Delhi on the charge of duping a five-star hotel by not paying their bills running into lakhs of Rupees.
They used to show their luxurious lifestyle for cheating innocent people by making false promises of settling them abroad, said the police.
According to the Delhi Police, identified as Navdeep Singh and his father Kamaljit Singh, both residents of Punjab, stayed at a five-star hotel in Aerocity, near IGI Airport, and when their bill ran nearly Rs 3.5 lakhs they quietly fled the hotel and checked into another hotel in Mahipalpur.
Both were nabbed from their room in Mahipalpur hotel on January 19. They had stayed in the hotel in Aerocity for nearly a month till September 6 last year.
Later, the police allegedly found that Navdeep Singh was a habitual offender and was involved in cheating people in past too.
A fake letter of Ministry of Finance was also recovered from his possession which he used to throw his weight around before the hotel staff. In a case registered in Barnala, Punjab, Navdeep Singh was found guilty of posing himself as an immigration officer in a bid to extort money from a family in Punjab.
