Fake placement agency busted in Delhi’s Bhikaji Cama Place

5 women & 2 men nabbed in Delhi for running a fake placement agency while duping innocent unemployed youths.

New Delhi, June 26 (Delhi Crown): A fake placement agency was busted in Delhi after around 250 innocent unemployed people were duped to the tune of around Rs 25 lakhs, confirmed the Dwarka District Police on Sunday.

As many as five women and two men were nabbed from their placement agency located in Bhikaji Cama Place’s Somdatt Chambers.

The women were identified as Sweety Sharma (46), Yasmeen (25), Anchal (19), Preeti (21), and Muskan Singh (19), while the two men were identified as Karan Kumar alias Rohit Bhatti (24) and Rohit Kashyap (21).

As many as 16 mobile phones, two laptops, several registers maintained at fake placement agency, and some forged appointment letters.

The fake placement agency was busted by Dwarka’s Cyber Police Station on the basis of a complaint by a woman claiming that she was duped twice, once by Rs 3500 and then by Rs 8500.

Giving details as to how the fake placement agency was busted, Dwarka district’s Deputy Commissioner M. Harsha Vardhan stated that a woman who was duped twice had approached the Dwarka police with a complaint.

Later, a police team was dispatched along with her and she showed the location where the fake placement agency was situated.

“A complaint was received at Cyber Police Station, in which the complainant alleged that she was contacted by one Muskan telephonically saying that she is a recruiter from Shine.com. Then, she asked her to visit the job consultancy in Bhikaji Cama Place for an interview and they collected registration fees of Rs.3500 and Rs. 8500 from her through Google Pay,” said Vardhan.

He further stated that after this the complainant was issued an Appointment Letter by “Sunshine HR Global Services” in the name of other private companies, but they were forged and no job was given to her.

A team was set up under the supervision of Dwarka ACP Vijay Singh to solve the case. During investigation, the details of the alleged mobile numbers were obtained and the complainant also visited B-50, Somdatt Chamber-II, 9, Bhikaji Cama Place.

A trap was laid, and a raid was conducted at the said fake placement agency’s office, in which the people running it were nabbed.
