Drunken man leaves a Parking Lot attendant with a broken skull in South Delhi

New Delhi: In a sensational case of brutality on Delhi roads, a man named Vikramjit Singh mercilessly beat up a Parking Lot Assistant named Vikas Thakur in South Delhi’s Vasant Vihar area opposite Priya Cinema complex, next to a Delhi Police’s Chowkey (Police Post) on the evening of Feb. 1 (Wednesday) and fled from the scene.
The victim, a native of Bihar, is fighting for life at AIIMS Trauma Centre.
Ironically, no Delhi Police cop was present at the Police Chowkey when the crime took place. The victim’s colleagues had to call the police Control Room (PCR) to get their complaint registered.
A case has been registered at the Vasant Vihar Police station, but the assailant still remains at large. Several calls made by www.thedelhicrown.com to the concerned police station and the DCP went unanswered.
According to the complainant Manoj Kumar, a colleague of the victim, the assailant Vikramjit Singh parked his car (Regn. No. DL14CE 4782) at the Parking Lot at around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and went to a Bar/Pub located in the nearby market opposite Priya Cinema Complex.
After nearly two-and-a-half hours he (Vikramjit Singh) returned to the Parking Lot to pick his car. On being asked to pay parking charges Rs. 60, Vikramjit Singh began arguing with the attendants at the Parking Lot. Soon he (Vikramjit Singh) came out with a cricket bat and started beating up them all. He (Vikramjit Singh) allegedly hit Vikas Thakur on his head, as a result of which the latter sustained serious injuries in head with a broken skull.
Soon after Vikramjit Singh fled from the scene.
The victim’s colleague Manoj Kumar called the PCR and later the victim was admitted at AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he continues to be unconscious and is battling for life.
