Drunkard held in Uttam Nagar for attempting to break ATM
New Delhi, Feb. 13 (Delhi Crown): A 34-year-old addicted to consuming alcohol has been nabbed by the Uttam Nagar Police for allegedly trying to break open an ATM using a “Tavva” (using for cooking rotis), in a bid to steel money to satiate his drinking habits.
The accused has been identified as Ashad Ali (34), a resident of Hastsal JJ Colony in Uttam Nagar.
Married and having four kids, Ali told the police that he is a permanent resident of Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh.
Currently he works as a glass-cutter at a construction site. Due to his addiction of liquor, and facing financial problems to look after his family, he decided to break open an ATM to get some quick and easy money. But, the plan of getting money from the ATM machine could not be fulfilled.
The incident to break open the ATM took place around midnight of February 10 at an ATM of Bank of India Hastsal Road, Uttam Nagar in Dwarka Police district.
