Dreaded gangster Kala Jathedi’s sharp-shooter nabbed from Najafgarh
Accused Iqbal a resident of New Roshanpura
New Delhi, Jan. 14 (Delhi Crown): A dreaded gangster, extortionist and member of Kala Jathedi gang was nabbed by the Dwarka Police from the BHD Nagar police station area on the intervening night of Jan. 13-14, said the local police.
The alleged gangster, who is now in police custody, has been identified as Iqbal alias Mikku (26), a resident of New Roshan Pura, Najafgarh.
According to the police, he fired upon the police team on being confronted. Subsequently, he was overpowered by the police team.
In a police complaint by a resident of Baba Haridas Enclave, it was alleged that on January 11 he had received a phone call and that the caller demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakhs in the name of gangster Kala Jathedi who is currently held in Tihar Jail.
When the complainant ignored the phone call, some unknown person had fired at the main gate of his house.
On receiving the complaint, the local police scanned CCTVs and police informers’ help was sought.
The police team finally got success on Jan. 14, when, acting on a secret information, Special Staff/Dwarka took the desperate criminal of Kala Jathedi gang head-on after he used his illegal pistol to fire on the police team.
During the intervening night of 13-14/01/2022, the team of special staff Dwarka received a specific information that Iqbal alias Mikku, who is a sharpshooter of Kala Jatheri Gang and involved in the recent extortion and firing case of PS BHD Nagar, will come at BHD Enclave, Dichaon Road to meet his associates.
A trap was laid down near BHD Enclave, Dichaon Road and at about 00:45 AM, Iqbal came at Dichau Road near BHD Enclave on a Scooty, which was later found to be stolen.
When the police team intercepted him, Iqbal fired upon the police team. During the exchange of fire, two rounds were fired by the criminal and three rounds were retaliated by the police team of Special Staff/Dwarka.
In the shootout, the gangster was shot in one leg. He was found in possession of illegal firearm/ ammunition. Several FIRs were registered at different police stations, including Chhawla, Uttam Nagar, Dwarka North, Dwarka South, BHD Nagar and Najafgarh.
