Delhi’s women press club holds 3rd Table Tennis Tournament
42 Men & Women journalists took part in the tourney

New Delhi: The Indian Women’s Press Corps (IWPC), popularly called as women press club in Delhi, successfully held the Third Table Tennis Tournament for journalists at its premises on March 10-12.
The tournament was open to both women and men journalists from across all media organisations.
“The three-day tournament was received with a lot of gusto and enthusiasm with journalists taking out time from their hectic schedules to practice and finally play,” said IWPC in a statement.
It added: “A total of 42 journalists from leading media publications participated in the tournament. The draw was prepared by Referee Amolak Singh Kler and his associates. Matches were held for the categories of Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles, Men’s Singles and Mixed Doubles.”
The tournament was inaugurated by Arjuna awardee Indu Puri, who has been an international Table Tennis champion and eight time national award winner in Women’s Singles category. Freelance journalist Abantika Ghosh won the Gold medal in Women’s singles, while Piyal Bhattacharjee of The Times of India won the Gold in Men’s singles. Abantika Ghosh and Meghna Dhulia of The Times of India won the Gold medal in Women’s Doubles, while Abhishek Law of The Hindu (Business Line) and Meghna Dhulia won the Mixed Doubles title.
The winners received cash prizes as well.
