Delhi’s Dwarka fast emerging as a breeding ground of drugs peddlers
Heroin worth Rs 2 cr 70 lakhs recovered from African national in Mohan Garden
New Delhi, April 20 (Delhi Crown): Mohan Garden and Uttam Nagar, the two areas falling under the Dwarka Police District of Delhi are fast developing as breeding grounds of drugs suppliers in the form of African nationals staying here illegally.
On Wednesday the local police under the leadership of Dwarka ACP Vijay Singh Yadav nabbed an African national with 270 grams of heroin worth Rs 2 crores and 70 lakhs.
However, the local police are yet to reach the “source” from whom the drug peddler procured the narcotic substance.
According to Dwarka DCP Shankar Choudhary, the accused Nigerian national, identified as Onyemqobi (29 years), was nabbed from a house in Mohan Garden on April 16.
The news was, however, shared with the media after a lapse of four days.
The nabbed African national was said to be involved in drugs peddling for quite some time.
“On sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that recovered heroin drug was brought from one Joe who is living in the Mohan Garden area. The sccused knows the whereabouts of Joe. To unearth the syndicate of illegal business of drugs, recovery of illegal drugs, the investigation is carried on for nabbed the supplier,” said the local DCP in a statement.
