Delhi’s AIIMS discontinues mandatory Covid testing for Inpatient surgeries
New Delhi, Feb. 9 (Delhi Crown): Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has decided to discontinue with the routine Covid-19 testing prior to Inpatient hospitalisations, and also prior to any minor or major surgical procedures in clinically asymptomatic patients, said an official order issued on Wednesday.
The decision has been taken in accordance with the ICMR’s new national guidelines.
The waiver of the condition of testing for Covid-19 would be for those patients who were earlier Covid positive and have since recovered and transferred to the parent department’s Inpatient ward for continued treatment.
All the concerned departments and the faculty members have been informed about the decision of waiving the condition of routine Covid-19 testing prior to any inpatient hospitalisation.
