Delhi BJP demands closure of educational institutes, all-party meet
New Delhi, Dec. 27 (Delhi Crown): Cases of Omicron variant of Coronavirus doubled in Delhi during the past 24 hours, from 79 to 142, revealed the latest data issued by the Centre’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Now, Delhi has the highest number of Omicron cases in the country, followed by Maharashtra which has 141 cases.
The number of Covid-19 cases per day in Delhi has also risen three times over the past few days. On Sunday as many as 290 new cases were registered across Delhi, even as this number had gone to below-100 till a few days back.
In the wake of rising Covid-19 cases, the Delhi Government had last night imposed a night curfew in the national capital from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Meanwhile, the Delhi unit of the BJP has demanded from the Kejriwal Government to shut the educational institutions and call an all-party meeting to discuss the latest pandemic situation in the national capital.
“Cases of corona are increased in Delhi for the last few days. We demand from the Delhi government – Educational institutions should be closed keeping in mind the health of the children. To convene an all-party meeting and give us the roadmap to protect Delhi from Corona,” tweeted the Delhi unit of the BJP on Monday.
