Delhi to host a grand shopping festival early next year: Kejriwal
Says it will boost Delhi’s economy, create employment
New Delhi, July 6 (Delhi Crown): Delhi will host a grand 30-day long shopping festival – “Delhi Shopping Festival” from January 28-February 26, with the objective of creating employment and giving a much-needed boost to Delhi economy, announced Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday (July 6).
Heavy discounts would be offered on a wide range of products, said the CM.
He claimed that this would be a one-of-its-kind shopping festival, ever organised anywhere in the country.
“It would have a total of 200 concerts, and Special Food Walks where Delhi’s food would be displayed and promoted before the visitors. Delhi is known for its large variety of foods,” said Kejriwal.
The chief minister further stated that the countdown for the festival has begun, and that people from across the country and the world would be invited to attend it.
“We are in touch with hoteliers, travel agents and private airlines so that best tour packages could be offered for those staying in other states and want to attend the festival,” he further stated.
Elaborating further, Kejriwal stated that there would be everything in the festival for all age groups, from Entertainment, Culture, Food, Computer Games, Health, Wellness, Technical Gadgets, etc.
“There will be an unparalleled shopping experience, as there would be very heavy discounts for the visitors. There will be many exhibitions. Delhi will be decorated like a bride. Top artists from the world will perform. Gradually we will plan to make it a regular international festival, thus presenting Delhi to the world,” said the Delhi CM while addressing the Delhiites in a video.
