Delhi reports 102 new cases, 1 death in the last 24 hours

Active caseload stands at 557

New Delhi, Dec. 21 (Delhi Crown): As many as 102 new cases of Covid-19 and one death were recorded in Delhi during the past 24 hours, said the local health department.

This is the second consecutive occasion over the past couple of days when more than 100 cases have been registered in Delhi. As many as 107 new cases were registered on Sunday and 91 new cases on Monday.

Currently the Active Caseload stands at 557 in the national capital.

With this the total strength of Covid-19 has risen to 14,42,390 while the total death toll stood at 25,102.

Delhi was the one of the worst Covid-19 affected places in India, both in terms of new cases and deaths per day.

Only yesterday, Delhi Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Anil Baijal on Monday chaired the 28th meeting of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to review the COVID-19 situation and emerging scenario in light of the Omicron strain, along with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and other cabinet ministers.

Chief Secretary, Balram Bhargava of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Dr Randeep Guleria of the AIIMS, Dr SK Singh of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), and representative from NDMA, besides other senior officials, were also present on the occasion.
