A senior official of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) had lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police regarding the sale of fake online tickets, following which the police traced down Sandeep Chand to Uttarakhand’s Champawat area with the help of technical surveillance.
The accused had formed a website www.agramonuments.in for selling online Taj Mahal tickets after carefully studying the ASI’s website, and started getting easy money into his bank account.
Online frauds are galore these days whereby the fraudsters indulge in duping gullible persons. In certain cases, innocent people have been duped by lakhs of Rupees. Considering the rising number of such cases, the Delhi Police recently set up Cyber Crime Police Stations across the national capital.
